My artistic practice centers on the exploration of the human form and the subtle sensations it conveys, a theme that has consistently captivated my creative interest. However, the core of my work lies not just in the subject matter, but in the unique process I've developed: painting with ice. As a Toronto-based artist, this self-created technique involves using frozen acrylics, allowing me to deeply engage with the act of creation process over a non-fixed endpoint.

My journey as an artist began in Colombo, Sri Lanka. After immigrating to Toronto with my mother and sister to reunite with my father, my lifelong passion for the visual arts led me to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University. It was during my time there that the innovative technique of painting with ice took shape. Now, I continue to explore the possibilities of acrylic paint through the unpredictable nature of ice, allowing this unique method to further my ongoing investigation of the human figure.
